Junk text displayed in Message box

I have a course which has been translated into Japanese. All through the course the japanese characters are displayed fine. At one place where a Message display box displays a message on the click of 'next' button the japanese characters are displayed as junk.I have tried unformatting the text supplied by the translator before i paste it into the course, but it doesnt work. THe same course has also been translated into "bahasa'(indonesian) and this message displays the bahasa characters perfectly.Could anybody help me with this.Thanks,Niranjan
