I was having exactly the same problem while trying to install lectora on a new machine. I got around it by loggin on as the local adminstrator of the machine. it then allowed me to install without throwing the message. I believe the message is misleading as I killed all processes (Process explorer is a good tool as it shows what is being used by what applications) and still could not install, killed my machine though! I think Lectora is trying to replace the ikernel.exe and local users do not have sufficient privilages it has never been a problem in the past so I suspect an MS update has changed the security rights to stop applications doing this.hope it helpsAndrew
