Increasing the amount of data sent from Lectora course to Moodle

I have created a number of Lectora courses that are published using SCORM 1.2 and displayed through Moodle. I am having a problem with the amount of data that the Lectora course can report back to Moodle. Some of these modules are based on self-reflection, so the learner needs to be able to record a reasonable amount of text (3-5 paragraphs per text box). It also needs to be saved so when they reopen it they can amend it. The same problem also occurs in modules that aren't self-reflection based, but have a number of open text questions within them.

I am constantly getting two different error messages:

- one in Moodle stating cmi_suspend data has been exceeded; therefore, it doesn't store the learner's data from the point at which this error message occurs. (This message was occurring in all modules, and the only way I can circumvent it is to reduce the number characters in each text box, which isn't a long term solution as learners are reporting they can't type enough content for the questions asked).

- the other is when publishing in Lectora (this error message occurs in the self-reflection modules, but not in the standard modules) - it states "Question 'XXXX' has a 'Maximum answer text length' specified of greater than 255 characters. Any student answers greater than 255 characters will be truncated when reported to the LMS.'

It appears that it is a SCORM 1.2 issue (not moodle as the file the data is written to can take a large amount of data) in terms of the data type for each element of the data tracking. This means that it would need to be overcome through actions within the Lectora interface, rather than the LMS.

Has anyone else come across this problem and managed to overcome it?
