Importing 360 video from Insta360
May 7, 2021 12:00 AM
Hi, I am completely new to CenarioVR but I do like it already. I have not found a way to import video from my Insta360oneX camera. I am getting the same error message every time I export from the Insta studio app and import the file into CenarioVR. I have now exhausted the types of export parameters from my camera's editor. Everything works perfectly with 360 stills. Any help? :(

The Insta 360 comes with companion software (Insta 360 Studio, https://www.insta360.com/download/insta360-onex) which allows you to stitch and compress the videos from the camera into MP4 files.
Its good software, but it does allow you to create H.264 MP4 files that are greater than 4K in resolution, which is actually not supported by the H.264 format. There will be very spotty support across browsers and devices for H.264 MP4 files at resolutions higher than 4K. What seems to be happening there is that the video just plain won't load in the browser.

Gives you some good settings to use with the Insta software (scroll down to the 'Video Bitrate' section) to create videos.
You can also always use Handbrake to compress videos, and we provide presets for you here:

Let me know how it goes!
