Image FIles

I agree, if courses are distributed over an intranet then there are less restrictions on file sizes. Here’s my 2 cents:For the web I always optimize images as much as possible without losing considerable image quality (about 50-70 on the jpeg quality control in Photoshop). My personal limit is around 60-80k. I’ll see if I can shrink large images down or crop them. If an image is crucial to what we are working on, then I may tolerate a larger file size. We don’t use video as much, but you should always try and stream video when possible. YouTube has a 10meg limit, and that seems like a reasonable place to draw the line. Anything larger than that might be best to split into multiple videos.Any audio over 2mb makes me uneasy. Might split that up too.Flash files (swf) tend to be small except for all the added images, audio, and video embedded in them. So the same rules apply when importing content in Flash + flash compresses everything nicely.
