While this is likely not very helpful, the main thing you can do is to scale down your images BEFORE putting them into Lectora using PhotoShop, Fireworks, or something similar - maybe even SnagIt although I have not tried that one.For .jpgs you can also reduce quality to as much as 80% and still get pretty good pics on the web.
