how to set up a download link

Thanks Tim,I just tried to set up a link that does a goto web address and put a zip file to the extern folder but when I clicked on the link it showed me a error messsage said the page not found. Did I do something wrong? Would you mind if telling me more details about how to achieve it?Thanks
