How to create a text box to fill in information

Hello - new to this forum and Lectora. Maybe a simple question, but here goes. I need to create a fill in the blank box which then (after the information is filled in - it must be filed in) will then take the used to another fill in the blank box.

Then after the boxes are filled in with any information, this is not wrong / right or a test question, a new window opens for which I can will create a drop down menu or simply have a screen capture. Any ideas? Button wizard does not seem to do this action. Fill in a blank box, go another blank box, fill that in, then have a window open

Sorry for the confusion I meant short answer not short essay.

Please see the attached .awt hopefully it makes sense.

also another slight correction to my earlier answer. rather than use a > {blank} you can use the is not empty condition.

Hope this helps :) Let me know if it requires further explaining.

Thanks this is a very good beginning. The obstacle I face is a little more than involved. What I am trying to accomplish is 1) have a person enter their name, 2) click which brings them to the next box for them to 3) fill in their password which then 4) brings them to another screen. This is a software demo. This software does not allow for click on the screen to proceed, but is very specific that the user must enter their name, press enter, cursor goes to next field, then user enters their password, press enter and next screen opens. Lectora is great, but I find in this case Captivate is a lot easier! Any suggestions you have are greatly appreciated. Much Thanks ~rich

Thanks for the reply, But I am still a bit confused. You mentioned a short ESSAY question? Would a SHORT ANSWER field work as well? I'll take you up on your offer. If you could send me your example, that would help. I'm using Lectora 11

thanks ~rich

You can do this by using a short essay question as a fill in the blank box. Setting an action on the first input field to show the second input field. Then set an action on the button to open the window set a condition on the action that only does the action if the input fields are completed. If you wanted it to progress based on any info being in there then set the condition to if {input field 1} > {leave blank} and {input field 2} > {leave blank} If the information needs to be specific for the window to open then set the condition to {input field1} = {required detail} and {input field2} = {required detail}

I hope this all makes sense? If not let me know and I can attach an example course demonstrating it.

right ok.

I believe there is currently a bug that has been reported. actions should be able to be triggered on keystroke, but there is a problem with setting this to the enter/return keys. at this point I think someone else might need to offer a solution if there is one, its beyond me sorry :(
