Hidden images reappear instead of staying hidden

I'm using lectora X. I have a page with one of the new flash characters on it, and have several images that have OnTimerShow actions on them to show them when it makes sense depending on what the character is saying. When a new picture is set to show an action OnShowHide hides the previous image. For some reason my pictures decide to reappear randomally. I have no other actions attached showing them, yet they still show back up when they should not. Anyone else having this problem.

OK, so when I debugged I saw that the ontimer event that is on the fires again 12 seconds after the image is hidden. How do I prevent this from happening? I just need the image to stay hidden after the hide action is executed.

I created a variable named FirstTime, set it to yes, run the timer only when it equals yes, and set it to now when the image shows. I'm hoping there is some setting that I missed, so I don't have to do that every time I use a timer.
