Flash interactions in Snap! Empower

I've set up a tabbed interaction by modifying one of the templates. There's a snag because the content for one tab requires more room than is available in the content area. I don't see any way to introduce scrolling text so I've tried two things:

1. I set up buttons to allow learners to 'page' through the content. Each button is set to Show/Hide using Advanced Show/Hide. The only problem (a show-stopper) is that the tab controls also appear and disappear when I click the buttons that page through the content.

2. I created a simple paging interaction in a separate project and published it to swf. I imported the swf into the original project and set up the tab to display the swf content instead of the original content. The swf content doesn't appear when I preview the project.

The help files don't really help at all. In fact, the information seems very ambiguous. I'm left with the impression that .swfs are converted to .flvs on import. My questions:

-Should I be able to import swfs into Snap! Empower and preserve their interactivity?

-If so, why can't I see the .swf I created and imported? Have I missed a step in the import process?

-If I can't import interactive swfs, what options do I have to create a sub-level of interactivity in one page in a project?

Thank you

Grace
