I've also followed your advice mallow76 and it largely does the job. As you say, some Javascript would probably be better in the long run. For example, if someone highlights a couple of lines they have written and then hits the delete key, the counter drops by one rather than 're-instating' the total number of deleted characters on the counter.Does anyone have knowledge of Javascript to help us out with this one?
