Dynamic dropdown for usernames

The ASP code (attached as an external HTML file) connects to the database and prints out the list, including the select and option pieces. I see what you mean about the dropdown having a variable, but how can I set the recordset that is returned to the dropdown? I had it working yesterday (printing everything from the ASP code) but can not seem to figure it out again.
