Drop-down navigation

I want to have a drop-down box on every page that can be used as alternative navigation. It would not be a table of contents. I want to provide quick access to certain pages within my project. I have not been able to find a way to do this. The menu option is the closest I have found but there seems to be no way to have it as a drop-down and I have a long list of items. Any suggestions?
