Development Time

Generally, the time would depend upon the type of the course. A standard course, where layout is already determined, can be build pretty fast.Usually we build courses in a standard size, sometimes with a standard layout. This saves a huge amount of time, and allows you to build the basics without text and decoration in less then 2 hours. If the text is prepared for you as well, then this could save you a huge amount of time as well. Then, if it is a small course (between 10 and say .. 40 pages) everything can be realised in a day or 2.On the other end of the spectrum, some company (or individual) comes up to you with a manual, 400 high-res pictures with formats greater then the pictures on your wall and a company logo, wishing you good luck on building. And you will need it, because it is generally unwise to scale images in Lectora, perhaps different backgrounds must be made, and sometimes narration needs to be included. We have build 2 of these courses, and they both took over a month to complete. Note, both of them were over 500 pages in total. So, to be short, it really depends on the project you will be working on. Small projects can be finished in a week time, while bigger projects need a lot more. Added to this is the fact that there is only one person able to work on a AWT file at the same time. Multiple users are not supported within Lectora. You can have someone editing and finalizing images for you, but you will be the one importing them.I have to agree with Dave though, the time is usually divided between all the elements needed to build. Once the setup is done, the building usually does not take that long.Good luck with Lectora!
