Date Variable

I have a related question about the Date variable. I made a certificate and inserted a text box then attached an action to "on show" display CurrentDate. It works perfectly when I play it in Lectora - displays December 12, 2007, but when published to html, the date format changes to 'Wednesday, December 12, 2007". Where the heck did that "Wednesday" come from?? It causes things to be off centered and I want to get rid of it.Any ideas? This is strange!
