Course content vary upon launch?

I am a Javascript novice, but I do have some co-workers that can probably help me with that. Before I do that, I just want to make sure my question was clear. I want to use one course and lead learner A and learner B through different course content based on where they launch the course from. Will using your suggested Javascript code and a Lectora variable accomplish that?
