Converting PPTs to Lectora for classroom training
January 25, 2016 12:00 AM
Our team is looking into converting instructor-led PowerPoint training materials including presenter notes to Lectora for instructors to use in the classroom. Have any of you had any informative experiences with this in terms of benefits and processes?

Hey John! Thanks for asking such an interesting question. Here's my two cents.....because Lectora is more robust than PowerPoint when it comes to delivery I think the biggest benefit to switching would be the amount of interaction or content that you could put into the course. The biggest being the ability to include quizzes or games. The other benefit would be uploading the course for delivery when the instructor is unavailable or there's a timing issue. Alternatives are always nice especially in the case of compliance training.

Hi John,
As Jenifer said, more interactve possibilities is one of the advantages. Going easy to mobile or tablet with Lectora16 RCD is another one.
Actually i just finished a series of old instructor led Powerpoint courses to Lectora content. Depending on your templates it might be usefull to first change/update your Powerpoints to any new design, that way you get all assets nicely setup in Lectora from start.
In my case i also had a lot of audiofiles ( wav and mp3) that needed to be transcribed. No fun for anyone if the amount of files piles up. Luckily there are tools available that can perfectly transcribe audiofiles into text.
Kind regards,
Math
