For the other LMS's I work with (this is the simplistic explanation), the basic route when loading content you have an option to use LMS navigation or Course Navigation. Using LMS navigation, you can link between assignable units and a tree menu is then provided based on how the AU's are structured.Course Navigation is when you control everything within the SCO.Knowing how the LMS navigation works is key to structuring the content in Lectora and how you break up AUs.
