Calculating date/time spent

Hello Everyone... So I have a situation and I am not really sure how to proceed. I want to have a page at the begining of a course where a learner has to enter a specific date and based on the number of days elapsed from that date to the current date would determine whether the learner can proceed with the course.
Example:
1) Ask the learner when they started "X" on the-job-training
2) Learner enters the date (2/6/09... or whatever date format that is appropriate)
3) If it has been 30 days or more since date entered, proceed with course. If it has been less than 30 days, get screen that tells them they need to wait to take course.
I am just getting stuck with the whole date-thing. Is this possible to calculate the difference between a date entered and the current date. Actually, let me rephrase that... I am sure this is possible... Is this possible using the tools that Lectora already provides?
Thanks so much, StacyHello Everyone... So I have a situation and I am not really sure how to proceed.
