button code to return user to last visited page
April 30, 2010 12:00 AM
I have a course with a button to a TOC. I tried to do it two ways.
Way 1: If I open the TOC in a new window, all the links to the pages in the course open in that new window instead of the course behind.
Q: Is there code to make the TOC page close and the pages selected from the links open back up in the course behind?
Way 2: If I have the TOC open as a regular page in the course, then add a Back button, I can't get the code to get user back to the last page they visited. It only gets them back to the previous page (the ltteral one from the devopers title explorer view.
Q: Does anyone have code or a solution on how to get them to the page they came from?
Hope that makes sense. Hopefully someone will have some ideas.
Thanks
Discussion (2)
I just tried the "back" target for a button action to take the user to the last page visited. It's awesome!
Any tips for doing something similar with "next?" (such as "back + 1" ).
I'm not clear on what you're trying to accomplish with that ("Back+1") -- can you give an example? Since "Back" will take someone back to the previous page, it can take them forwards or backwards (in terms of page number), depending on where they came from and how they got there...
