Sounds like a buggy version of Java. Try installing a different version of the Java plugin on that machine and see if it fixes it. I used 1.4.2_12 and worked fine.You may also check the option to use the "Javascript title manager" when publishing and this will eliminate the Java requirement for the ende user.
