Bookmarking in Lectora Publisher
June 30, 2014 12:00 AM
Hello,
I am finished with my course and I need to set up bookmarking. I am not sure how to do this and I am not finding an easy answer out in the cosmos. Does someone have any easy fix and can tell me how to set up a bookmark in my course? My client wants to be able to leave the course and come back where they left off.
I thought I had seen this before as a check box option, maybe I was confused with something else.
Thanks!

Try this to add a bookmark.
At the top of your title, add the following action:
On Show
Modify Variable
Target: You have to create a new variable for bookmarking. We call ours _bookmark_coursename
Type: Set Equal To
Value: Javascript:location.href
Then, on the first page, we add a button that says "back to last page viewed" with the following actions:
On Mouseclick
Go to Web
Address: Var(NAME OF YOUR BOOKMARK VARIABLE HERE)
Open in: Existing Window
Hope that helps!
Thank you both for the time you took to respond. I really appreciate it.
I didn't see a box to check for bookmarking while publishing. I'd prefer that method if possible. Can you tell me specifically where the check box is located?
If not, I'll the route of doing the variable and the button on the front page.
Thanks!
Your LMS should provide bookmarking capability. If it does, you need to check the bookmarking box in Lectora publishing options (SCORM) and returning users will be prompted to continue from where they left off.
