Blurry Screenshots

Screenshots are a large part of my current Lectora module. I'm taking the screenshot, pasting it into word, croping the shot, then copying and pasting it into Lectora. The outcome is an extremely blurry, poor quality picture. I don't know what else to try to increase the quality of these shots. I realize if I keep them smaller (almost to the point of being unable to read any of the print) that the clarity is better but I'm winning one battle while losing another. Clarity increases=visability decreases. All help and suggestions are greatly appreciated!
