Basic Audio Info Request

I will have to add audio to new courses I develop in Lectora. I need to know the basics of adding sound to a presentation. While I've seen the Video Assist clip, that's not basic enough. It starts from Importing sound. I need to know things like:

1) Tell me about adding sound to a silent presentation: what are the options and the advantages / disadvantages I should know (Continuous soundtrack? Dedicated audio for each slide or page? What is the easiest way to deal adding or integrating narration to visuals?

2) Can I add sound to each page/slide that the user/learner can control? If so, what are the parameters? Such as - is there a time limit per slide?

3) How would I edit later if content is changed for some pages/slides and not others?
