AWT file creates .awt11 and other random combinations

While working in Lectora Inspire version 11.2a (and frankly since the around 11) my team mates and I are seeing our AWT files have additional 0's and 1's at the end. The files are useless because you can't Lectora with them. Has anyone seen this?

Nope... Are you sure you don't have some other software (backup, cloud sync, etc) that can generate copies of the files you're working on?
There is a back up file program running but these "extra" files are only being created using AWT's.
This is the response I got from the ticket I submitted:
Most likely, these are BMP files that are being created by Lectora. These are used in Lectora when you look at the recently used file list and see a screenshot of the first page in the course to get a visual representation of what that title looks like. If for some reason you are not seeing an extension on those files, try adding .bmp to one and attempt to open it. You should see an image if the file is not corrupted. If you have any additional questions, let us know.
Does that make sense to you?
I just upgraded to v11 and I have the same thing going on... Not a deal breaker but it would be nice to know why as I have to train other folks to use the software.

Unfortunately the response to your ticket is rubbish! It is an exact copy of the awt file. If you delete the awt11 file and open the awt, it will create a duplicate copy of the awt as awt11 immediately on opening the file.
I'm using 11.3.2. It may be caused by opening AWT files created in earlier versions of Lectora. I've found that if I open an older AWT it creates AWT11, but then if I immediately hit Ctrl-S (Save) it will save a slightly different version of the file. Looking at the XML, it seems that my older file had
and when I open and save it, is now has
So, I suspect it's just a feature that saves a backup of older Lectora files when using the new file version.
