Averaging Two Assessments

I created a course with two assessments. One in the middle of the course. One at the end. Users need to have an average of 85% from the two assessments to pass. For the first assessment, whatever score they get (pass or fail) their results display and they go to the next page where a message reminds them that their score will be averaged with the final assessment. The problem is that I do not know how to get the final assessment to factor in the first assessment score to determine if the user passes the whole course. It can look at its own score, but cannot average in the first score. Any ideas? I'm using Lectora 2007 (soon upgrading to 2008).I created a course with two assessments.
