I have used SitePal for years now and am pretty pleased with them. We have the $400 Gold membership which includes the use of about 25 avatars and for the most part unlimited streams. However, these are streamed events and require a persistent Internet connection (except in rare occasions with PPT).I have used them in my HTML code of our LMS hosted with Learn.com and you can view one on our login page here. CMSLearning. They are well received, but not for everybody. You can not publish and STORE say on a CD the actions and voices without a connection to receive the stream unless you pay thousands and thousands of dollars for a separate package. I have also successfully implemented them in an Articulate course, which took way too much time for the result. But the output enabled me to click on various questions on a page and have a static avatar continue to reply to the prompts without refreshing the page... and this is cool. However, text to speech generators are limited to 600 characters. Conversly, you can upload your own edited audio (1 minute max), call on the phone to record any audio and associate with any avatar character you have used, and the change in instant... which is way cool. You can look at SitePal by going to their site, and I'm including a referral link here which takes you there. I am soon going to embed SitePal in a Lectora course, just havent yet, but all my other experiences have been very favorable for the money. (Note: they just dropped the price from $500 to $400 or less). You can email me for more info if you need it.Here is the link to SitePal. SitePal
