Audio not playing on button click event only in Google chrome
June 3, 2013 12:00 AM
Hi,
I have a simple page with couple of buttons and some text appearing on click of each button, also there is audio to be played on each button click. It works fine in IE, Firefox and Safari however it doesn't work in Google Chrome.
Buttons don't work at all if there is a play audio action on it. If this action is removed from the button it works fine. we I tried using both mp3 and flv file formats for audio.
The current chrome on my machine is 27.0.1453.94 m version. It worked fine in earlier versions of chrome and is now not working in the updated version it seems.:(
Could anyone please let me know what would be the issue.
Thanks in Advance!!

Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I'm having a similar problem but with Internet Explorer 10. Thanks!
Inserting a blank page at the title level has alleviated this problem in Google Chrome. With the help of Trivantis support, this workaround has successfully allowed media to play in Google Chrome. For us, the course would play the first time, but subsequent views, no audio would play.
The blank page has an OnShow action to GoTo next page with a 1 second delay.
This fixed the problem I was having in Internet Explorer 10! Thank you so much!
I had a similar problem once, and this was solved by rearranging the order of actions. I apparently had an action to hid an audio file before the action to stop the file. It had worked in all but one browser (don't remember which). Thanks to Trivantis support for discovering this for me.
