Audio in IE vs. other browsers?

Sorry if you have seen this before, I looked but didn't see anyone else with my specific issue.

Running Enterprise Edition, v.X.3 (7163).

I have built a module, tested everything out and uploaded to an LMS and had audio issues reported back to me by testers. After troubleshooting, I have narrowed the issue to browser.

Running the module in Chrome 20.0.1132.57 m or Firefox 14.0.1, even in Safari 5.1.7, the module and audio work fine and as they are designed to. But in Internet Explorer 8, no audio files will play. Not in auto-play, not On-show, not On-click. I went to other places in the module and the audio works fine IN video. My files are currently AIFF, because every time I convert to MP3 and add them into the module, they auto start on the page, regardless of the actions set on them.

Hoping someone has suggestions to help me in the right direction.
