I never found a guaranteed solution within Publisher 5. Many late nights of searching and testing didn't produce much help. Short of upgrading Publisher (see below), here are two options I tried and had limited success:Transcode the audio file to a different bitrate and/or use a different codecConvert the audio clips to .swfShortly after my original post we upgraded to Publisher 7. At the risk of sounding like a shill for Trivantis, I will say the latest verstion does have some nice features. The SCORM publishing wizard in this version has an extra tab that allows you to enable compression of audio, video, and images. The audio compression feature converts those files to .swf's, which play fine in all versions of IE we have installed. Grab the demo from your rep and try it out.good luck
