Audio buzz and system specs

Ok, first off, I am using the audio editor to record some narration for a program. When I record audio and play it back, I get a low-level buzz. probably not enough to impact the discernibility of the audio, but enough to be a real distraction (at least to me) from the content of the narration. The computer I am using is a stock Compaq with on-board audio and video, so I wouldn't be surprised if that was the cause of my problems. I am also working with a technically challenged IT department where I have to justify every upgrade I request (such as a real video and audio card) that I submit.Any thoughts?Just as a FYI, my system specs:OS: Win2K SP@1.7ghz Intel chip512mb ramon-board audio (SoundMAX digital audio)on-board video (NVIDIA Vanta)
