ATTN: Lectora developers RE: stuff that needs fixing

Hi there, and first of all, thanks for the 11.1 update.

Now that you've added stuff, can i please ask you to fix stuff that doesn't work properly in Lectora 11.

First and foremost, what have you done with the quiz Multiple choice option??? Now when i open old courses created in older versions of Lectora, the multiple choice maps to multiple choices, which for some reason now has radio buttons!! Why does it not map to the multiple response (as it should - this new name is very confusing)? I now have to go into each course and do this, which wouldn't be so bad, but when you change the question type all formatting/styling is lost!

Also, editing text in text boxes is atrocious - sometimes it is impossible to highlight text to format it, the right-click context menu has a mind of its own, and multiple word links do not link to all the words selected. This should be simple stuff.

I spent a lot of time convincing my boss that Lectora was the way to go, and now it seems like some aspects of it are just sloppy.

Thanks, and i hope you take these comments on board.

PS: one request i actually asked for during the beta testing which has yet to make it to Lectora is proper course tracking at page level (eg: you cannot do the quiz until all pages are viewed - with icons displayed next to pages viewed/unviewed in TOC etc). I know you were working on this, from what i gather - any updates to this? I have a workaround, but is very fiddly for some of the other developers who aren't all that crash hot creating and using variables.

You can send it to support@trivantis.com - just place "ATTN: Laura Michalow" in the subject line and they'll forward it along to me.

Thanks for your help - seeing an actual title exhibiting strange behavior is generally the best way to get to the root of the issue.

Hi jayseventwo,

The 11.1 update includes a long list of bug fixes - you can refer to this post for more information and a link to the release notes > http://lectora.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14488

I can't seem to recreate the Multiple Choice mapping issue you're describing. Can you provide more information and attach a small sample title built in an older version that I can take a look at? I tried True/False, Multiple Choice, and Multiple Choice with multiple correct answers (Multiple Response) and these all convert OK. Is there something I'm missing?

In terms of editing text, I'm not aware of any known issues with this, but I'll talk to our QA and Development teams to see what's going on there. Is this specific to v11?

Finally, implementing course tracking is very high on our priority list - we weren't able to get all of the feature requests from the beta into v11, but we have them all documented and this one is at the top.

Thanks,

Laura

Hi Lauren, thanks for the reply - i have attached a sample quiz. You can use all questions as examples (except Q7 which is a correct example of multiple choice in the new version of Lectora) - open this file in the previous version of Lectora and you'll see they are set to multiple choice. If you open it in Lectora 11 you'll see they are set to multiple choice as well, when they should be multiple response (even though in the old version the type was called multiple choice).

Hopefully that made sense!

Cheers

Update - i cannot seem to upload the 200kb file, as it says there is a 97kb file size limit. Do you have an email address i can send it to?

Thanks again Laura, i have sent you an email.
