Assign/weight point valuse

Hello,

I am trying to create a quiz in which each answer of each question is worth a different value. Basically, the questions are more like survey questions such as, "How often do you.....?" with answers of "Almost never" "Sometimes" "Almost always." Depending on the answer the user selects, the user earns the associated point value. For example, "Almost never" may only have a point value of 1 where "Almost always" may have a point value of 3. Then over the course of 5 questions, I want to be able to generate the total of all the responses. I see where you can weight a question, but I cannot figure out to set or weight the answers. Any words of advice or better way to do this?
