Have you looked at your LMS logs to see what exactly is causing the LMSCommit() error to occur? SCORM 2004, according to the standards, does in fact use two different variables. The first is cmi.success_status (AICC_Lesson_Status) and the other is cmi.completion_status which is also the name Lectora uses in the application. Not sure exactly when or why you are getting the error but the LMS logs should help to pin point the issue. Let me know exactly what is causing the error and I may be able to offer some assistance. If Saba does things totally different than the standards, then you may need to contact Saba support directly. Have you tried the course in Test Track? Test Track is a free site that works with ADL to provide a testing site for SCORM content. If your course works there and just not in Saba, then Saba support may be your best bet.
