Add PDF documents as resources

I am currently using Lectora Publisher to publish it as a scorm module in Moodle.

First of all, what is the best practice of adding resources such as pdf files and word documents in Lectora course?

I was wondering whether we can add pdf and MS word documents without any pop-up.

When I add pdf documents using actions as open attachments, it opens up with a whole new window in Moodle.

If I cannot avoid a pop-up, should I use a javascript that allows me to resize the pop-up window?
