Add Captivate interactive training to Lectora 16 course

I am attempting to add an interactive training I created in Captivate to my Lectora v16 module for a web based training. Hopefully someone can assist me out here. 🙂

Publish it to HTML5 and add using Lectora's Web Window functionality (Insert > Web Window).

Publish to HTML5 in Captivate 9

  1. From Publish drop-down select the Publish to Computer
  2. Be sure the Publish as box is set to HTML5/SWF.
  3. Select the option to create Zip Files.
  4. From the Output format make sure HTML5 is selected.

Move the Files

  1. Move the published files into the folder that contains your course files.

Insert a Web Window

  1. From your Lectora project, select the page where you want to insert content.
  2. Select the Insert ribbon and then the Web Window option from the Add Web Object
  3. From the Window Source drop down, select Local web-based content.
  4. Select the Browse button and locate the Captivate HTML5 files. Be sure the last item selected is the Index.html.
  5. Select the option to Include all files and subfolders.
  6. Holding Control on your keyboard (to maintain the window ratio), resize the web window to fit your screen.

Once you publish the course, you’ll be able to see the Captivate 9 content within Lectora.

I did this and it worked. However, I have audio in my Captivate and when I navigated to the next page, while the audio was playing, the audio kept playing and didn't stop when I left the page. Any hints?

I had to resort to publishing to .swf for it to work, but would like to switch to HTML5 Captivate output instead in the future.

Unfortunately, this is not the case. It is not set to the background and it is narrative files that is placed per slide in Captivate. It works fine as a swf published file in Lectora, but when I add into a web window using HTML5 publish, the audio keeps playing when I click Next in Lectora when I leave the page where the web window is linked. If I click Back to the page, the audio is still playing on the page that I left, but then restarts the Captivate from the start so Slide 1 audio is playing on top of the audio that I had been playing when I left the page. This only happens on HTML5 published files, but is fine in a swf published file.

P.S. Since the web window framework is going to be changing later this year (announced at the LUC) hopefully that might help out as well!

Hmmm....sounds like the web window isn't processing the audio as expected. Can you submit a ticket? I'm sure the development team would like to hear about this issue.

My best guess is that the audio is set at the background level instead of slide level so it's persisting across mutliple pages. Hoping this forum thread helps: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1691002
